Job Description

Oracle Data Cloud Contextual Intelligence helps advertisers navigate an increasingly crowded and noisy online ecosystem. The rapid rate at which content changes and evolves online means that marketers are constantly chasing trends and staying abreast of the most ideal places to serve their advertising. Understanding context allows marketers to choose the types of content they want their advertising to appear next to, and what they wish to avoid.

Contextual advertising is the act of serving ads based on the content displayed, which is made possible by understanding the context of the content. Understanding context means that the content can be categorized, and included or excluded, in a campaign.  We are looking for a customer-focused Product Owner to work in an engineering team exploring multiple methods for content categorization, derived mainly from machine learning techniques, across textual and non-textual content.

Job Description\:

  • Act as a Product Owner in a SCRUM development process
  • Own, define and prioritize product roadmap for Platform team and write user stories and their acceptance criteria
  • Work with engineering teams to establish success metrics
  • Work with User Experience to elaborate customer needs into stories
  • Communicate the Product Vision to the Engineering Teams
  • Attend Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Backlog refinement, Team Retrospectives and Sprint Reviews
  • Writes User Stories
  • Ensure quality of output is maintained
  • Write release notes
  • Communicates Sprint and Epic delivery updates to Product team
  • Provide input on areas which ensure the financial success of your product areas.
  • Deeply understand the needs of current and target customers through quantitative and qualitative customer research. Passionately represent the voice of our diverse customers to internal teams
  • Proactively conceive, document and drive the creation of new features. Create use cases and detailed product requirements that clearly articulate desired product functionality
  • Perform risk identification and mitigation planning

 

Preferred Qualifications\:

  • 3 years’ Experience as a product owner, developer, QA lead or scrum master within agile / SCRUM
  • Knowledge and experience of Front End development and User Experience, API development and use, enterprise software and Web Services architectures
  • Experience with Scrum, XP, Lean and other agile practices and methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven experience creating and driving the right mechanisms for success
  • Experience driving a global product and team with end-to-end inbound and outbound product responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects
  • Proven experience in the field of data analytics and customer-focussed tools and interfaces

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Act as servant/leader to a team that develops software solutions within the Contextual Intelligence Platform of Data Cloud. Act as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, and quality of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product management team, you will\:

  • Analyse and integrate external customer specifications
  • Suggest and justify product directions and specifications
  • Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture
  • Build new products and development tools
     

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 3 years of software engineering or related experience.

As a member of the product development division, you will define product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
