Job Summary
As a member of the Oracle IT organization, the successful candidate will work within the Collaboration Services organization to deliver mission critical email and calendar services to Oracle employees globally. The role involves engineering support for, and development of, Oracle’s Microsoft Azure tenancy, specifically the Azure Active Directory and Exchange Online implementations.
As part of the Collaborative Applications team, duties will be varied and complex requiring independent judgment and proactive action, including acting in a project lead role. The work will involve administering and extending Oracle’s Exchange Online environment in response to service improvement initiatives, Microsoft’s service roadmap and internal business demand for new or improved functionality, working with internal and vendor contacts as required.
What You’ll Work With:
The role requires a sound knowledge of Microsoft Azure Exchange Online services, Microsoft Active Directory Hybrid implementations, PowerShell and email routing within Exchange and via Email gateways such as Proofpoint and/or Linux sendmail/postfix hosts. Knowledge of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) will also be advantageous.
Your Challenge:
As Oracle moves collaborative solutions to Cloud platforms, Oracle’s own cloud or third-party SaaS, Oracle IT needs to grow experience in the Collaborative Applications team in line with the services provided. Oracle needs someone who can act as a lead on projects, communicate well with management and provide an interface with both internal business units and vendors to interpret requirements and develop the solutions deployed in line with business demand.
What We Require:
- Experience of working with Microsoft o365 / Exchange online Email, Calendar and Contact services who has a strong understanding of the concepts, architectures and components including Customer Key, Customer Lockbox and Advanced eDiscovery
- Experience of PowerShell administration and scripting
- Experience of a Hybrid Exchange/Azure deployment
- Experience of leading projects withing a complex IT environment
- Knowledge and some experience of API integrations with Exchange Online/o365
- Recent experience working in Tier 3 support/engineering role or senior Tier 2 support role
- Demonstrated ability to work with business contacts to develop solutions and / or onboard approved service integrations
- Strong knowledge of IT Security controls
- Knowledge of Email routing, delivery and message protection services
- Knowledge of Proofpoint message protection and associated services (TAP, EFD, TRAP)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
- Excellent verbal and written English Language communication skills who can communicate well with middle to senior management
- A self-motivated individual who can demonstrate strong prioritization skills to retain focus on key objectives
Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all production server hardware and software. Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status. Coordinate escalated support cases and lead appropriate internal technical resources and/or third party vendors to resolution and coordinate a storage infrastructure of Oracle system and database appliances. Responsible for Oracle production environments; assist with server operating system and application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching; and work on standardization projects for both hardware and software under the Oracle technology stack while providing consistent system uptime as expected in a Cloud environment. Provide on-call support, on a rotating basis.
BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. Identifies and implements complex solutions in Technical Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment; supporting and troubleshooting distributed applications, software, and operating systems; and administering and troubleshooting issues with messaging middleware and message brokers. Knowledge of enterprise platforms. Desire to keep up with modern technology and make recommendations. Knowledge of network architecture and protocols. Experience with enterprise administrative scripting using a major scripting language and experience with software deployment. Travel may be required in accordance with business needs. Related technical experience may be substituted for degree requirements, including Infrastructure support and server administration; supporting and troubleshooting distributed applications, software, and operating systems. Advanced knowledge of network architecture and protocols. Strong experience with enterprise administrative scripting using a major scripting language. 8+ years or more of related technical experience may be substituted for degree requirements, including Infrastructure support and server administration; supporting and troubleshooting distributed applications, software, and operating systems.
