We are looking for a Cloud Technical Program Manager (TPM) to help us push the boundaries of what can be accomplished in both current and the next generation of Oracle Cloud services. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing a set of projects and participation in both short and long term strategy planning. As a member of our highly collaborative and motivated team, you will work with multiple service development teams, identifying cross-team issues that create risk for operations across the organization and resolving those issues with a mixture of engineering and development, troubleshooting expertise, and general operational guidance. Challenges and opportunities are plentiful in this role as you apply your technical expertise and knowledge in program management to help secure the next generation of Oracle Cloud capabilities. You are responsible for leading the Technical Operations Tooling and Analytic team projects, programs and improvements for the team across our Cloud Environments.
 
Responsibilities\:

  • Own the vision and product roadmap for the Technical Operations Tooling and Analytic organization and ensure all resourced work streams align with this roadmap. Apply project management discipline to develop plans, define the scope, and manage schedule and resources for complex initiatives, prioritizing based on business needs as the business evolves
  • Serve as the voice of the customer for product development teams that use the services and products owned by the Technical Operations Tooling and Analytic team. Engage with business stakeholders to perform needs assessments, understand use cases, and document requirements
  • Apply project management discipline to develop plans, define scope, document requirements, and manage budget/schedule/resources for a complex group of projects
  • Independently identify risks, manage corrective action plans when schedule deviations occur, and escalate/communicate project health to senior leadership
  • Ensure technical risks associated with a project/program are identified and closed or mitigated to enable quality service
  • Partner with service teams to enable them to successfully meet and raise the operational bar with appropriate processes, enhancements, and solutions
  • Maintain a high level of organization and planning while communicating with stakeholders to reach timelines and maintain customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in response to changing or ambiguous situations, directing changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms
  • Look for process definition, improvement opportunities and lead others in adhering to existing IT processes and contributing to their improvement
 
  • Serve as a technical lead in driving resolutions to Cloud operational incidents
  • Ability to communicate operational and technical concepts to engineers as well as leadership understanding the appropriate level of detail
  • Take ownership of issues that cross-organizational teams to drive resolution ensuring the problem is owned until resolved
  • Monitor the progress of complex major incident resolutions ensuring that deliverables are clearly defined and owned
  • Identify trends and potential sources of improvements by reviewing incidents and through discussions across the organization
  • Reports to executives and updating of knowledge base with lessons learned from the major incident

 
Preferred Qualifications\:

  • 5 years of experience supporting the development and/or operations in a cloud environment, or technical background that enables you to understand cloud infrastructure
  • 5 years of project/program management experience
  • Experience with Scrum, Lean and other agile practices and methodologies
  • Understanding of UX/UI and/or API design patterns commonly used in creating internet and cloud services
  • Successful collaboration skills and tools that focus on earning trust with distributed teams
  • Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking capabilities
  • Outstanding proactive communication skills\: written, verbal, presentations
  • Demonstrate confidence, synthesize complex elements into a crisp, yet robust story
  • Ability to effectively train/teach others new information and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and influence product/engineering service owners
  • Self-driven, analytical, and results-oriented with proven sound judgment
  • Positive influence to lead through frequent ambiguity/uncertainty/change
  • Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills
  • DevOps experience
  • Knowledge and application of business process analysis methodologies
  • Previous Network Operations, Business Analysis, Systems Administration, Tech support, QA, and/or Software Development experience.

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Ten or more years of project management, product design or related experience needed.
