Role
This position offers an experienced Quality Analyst the opportunity to lead the analysis, planning, and execution of all primary testing functions for both Production and Non-Production environments. Successful candidates will have a deep background in all aspects of testing methodologies, expertise in testing tools, results oriented, personal drive and excellent problem solving skills.
- This Test Analyst role will work within the Testing Services line.
- Leveraging proved expertise in testing process, tools, design, development and execution, this position will work to ensure success of Testing Projects
- Provide design, development and execution of Tests using both Manual & Test Automation Tools.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high quality programs within agreed budgets and time frames
- Work at Onsite location whenever required and need to be travel ready. Onsite travel is anticipated in the first year itself.
Responsibilities
- Develop test plans based on the requirements for each functional module
- Create test cases to handle different functional scenarios based on the design documents
- Work with the Project Manager to estimate testing effort and schedule
- Perform quality and functional reviews during the Design and Development phases
- Provide regular status reports to the Project Manager
- Design and develop automation scripts using any standard Testing tools primarily Oracle OUTA or other Client requested tools like - Rational Robot or Rational Functional Test, HP Winrunner/Load Runner/QTP etc.
Work as part of the Testing team ensure Project Success – Tasks could include Design handover to QA, Ensure Requirements and Design Coverage in Test Plan through reviews and feedback, Co-ordinate defect tracking and closure with development and release teams etc.
Requirements
- University degree in Engineering in IT, Computer Science or any of its equivalent.
- 5 to 10 years’ Experience in Testing Design, Testing Development and Test Execution on Enterprise Applications , preferably in a multi-national organization
- Should have worked extensively in developing Test cases, Test Scenarios, Test Plans.
- Should be well versed with Test data creation techniques for Manual, Automation, Load, Stress and Soak testing. Should be with writing SQLs.
- Should be well versed with Scripting languages like VB Script or Java or SQA Basic which are commonly used in Test Automation Tools.
- Strong Analytical, Logical reasoning skills and some programming skills required
- Good understanding of working in a Global Delivery Model for IT Projects.
- Good Understanding of Test Management and all phases of the Software Testing Lifecycle- especially Test Design, Development, and Execution including Defect Tracking Cycle, Defect Metrics Reporting etc.
- Knowledge in Customer Management and Billing System a plus
- Knowledge of Oracle Utilities Products of CCB or MDM is a plus.
- Experience in Developing Automation scripts in any of the following tools - Rational Robot or Rational Functional Test, HP Winrunner/LoadRunner/QTP, Oracle UTA would be a plus.
- Experience in Object-oriented Design a plus
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Energy industry knowledge, Smart Grid, Smart Meter, Energy Deregulations etc., is a plus

Detailed Description and Job Requirements - External
Responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for company products with adherence to both internal and external standards. Develops and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions.
As a member of the technical/process QA division, you will develop quality standards, control methods and theories to be utilized during manufacturing, testing and inspection to access product quality. Develop standards and procedures to provide quality guidance methods.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
