Job Description

Perform job responsibilities as assigned while making the transition to a Cerner associate.
 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Development of Client relationships:

  • Maintain and nurture client relationships
  • Develop new business from existing clients
  • Good understanding of client business and market
  • Utilize proprietary Cerner Enviza RWE health driver solutions to realize the maximum advantage

Proposal process:

  • Recognize opportunities to generate proposals, maximizing if possible
  • Creative design to budget, while maximizing opportunities to sell and cross sell
  • Demonstrate RWE research & medical expertise to inspire clients and team

Project management / Fieldwork:

  • Suggest process improvements to suppliers and team
  • Drive integration of team members to deliver excellence
  • Clarify and manage roles and budget within project team
  • Oversee change to meet business and client needs
  • Manage the creation & review of materials to meet client needs
  • Direct the team’s efforts in the most effective use of analytic processes and research methodologies to address clients’ business issues

Analysis/reporting:

  • Ensure client deliverables meet expectations and needs; deliver excellence

Financial management:

  • Accountable for managing projects to drive positive GM and profit
  • Pricing for success and profit
  • Works with internal and external clients to identify cost effective solutions
  • Monitor project costs and complete within budget

Leadership, team and people management:

  • Manage and assist team in developing account strategy
  • Seek opportunities to share learning and coach/mentor team
  • Ensure direct reports have objectives & development plans to support team goals and company strategy
  • Assist in recruitment and development of staff in line with team and company needs

Communication:

  • Actively listen and communicate openly with clients and internal teams
  • Communicates proactively to transfer knowledge and guide understanding of standards and principles
  • Clearly and accurately write reports, presentations, and proposal documents
  • Deliver client presentations

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 8 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
    • At least 2 years licensed health care practice, clinical research, epidemiology and/or biostatistics work experience
    • At least 6 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education
  • High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years people management, matrix management, project management or other indirect leadership work experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience

  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
This entry level manager position is responsible for a small unit within a given practice focused on a specific industry, product/service line, technology center, specialty area or region. Responsible for managing the three main pillars of a practice: people management, portfolio/delivery management and sales enablement.

As a first line management role, responsible for directing and reviewing the team’s work to achieve operational or research-centric targets or objectives with measurable contribution towards the achievement of immediate and short-term results for the team and department. Establish and communicate team goals that support and advance team and department objectives; establish metrics or other performance measures to track progress. Understand and explain policies, practices and procedures within immediate area of responsibility to stakeholders within and outside of the team. Identify, propose and lead team- and department-level quality and process improvement initiatives; participate and provide input on strategic initiatives at the department-level

A minimum of 6 years experience in industry relevant to the practice focus. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors or Advanced degree in a discipline relevant to area of focus. Ability to produce strategic solutions utilizing best-in class research techniques. Deep knowledge of research methodologies and protocols. Depending on the job there may be additional minimum requirements and/or preferred qualifications.
