Job Description

Research Consulting Team Lead

 

  • Full management of Research Excellence team (including financial aspects of the project)
  • Manage the implementation of quality control (including pharmacovigilance training and audits)
  • Manage vendor relationship (including service agreements and rebates structure)
  • Manage the framework of research consultant – operations – vendor workflow (including efficiency, financial and resourcing)
  • Introduces innovative research collection methodologies

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial/ Commercial Management:

  • Managing processes profitability to drive positive Gross Margin and profit
  • Leads continuous improvement to project processes to maximize project & company profitability
  • Drives efficient and timely invoicing and organization of financial documentation
  • Develops accurate costs based on brief provided
  • Identifies cost efficiencies
  • Provides solutions to company barriers that are holding back profitability and growth
  • Displays ownership of profit for all projects
  • Liaises with Finance in respect of job accruals
  • Manages revenue streams in Topline and forecasting for InterCo projects

 

Client Management:

  • Manages and oversees clients’ projects (internal and external)
  • Supports teams in the preparation of major pitches and ensures cross-sector teams are created which capture the relevant skill set required for the pitch
  • Actively participates in pitch presentations
  • Plays major role in client liaison
  • Presents to clients competently and with confidence
  • Identifies key products/ markets that will help grow business profit
  • Looks at overall industry trends impacting accounts
  • Manages client expectations
  • Deals with and resolves client complaints / escalations
  • Identifies appropriate supplier based on an intimate knowledge of their offer

 

Proposal Development/Project Design:

  • Provides insight and thought leadership into proposal
  • Signs off cost for proposals
  • Applies conceptual frameworks strongly based on research, ‘marketing’ and ‘consumer’ principles
  • Delivers recommendations on approaches to fieldwork
  • Presents proposal in confident and competent manner

 

People Management:

  • Responsible for on-the-job, day-to-day training
  • Coaches and mentors staff / new starters on all aspects related to Project Management
  • Recognizes individual strengths and provides opportunities to utilize these
  • Looks to develop and provides support for team members
  • Drives own development
  • Actively transfers learning and insights to others
  • Identifies resourcing efficiencies
  • Clearly communicates objectives, allocates tasks and supervises team members

Quality Control:

  • Quality control on deliverables associated with research programs
  • Ensures all QC standards are met by all related parties
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of systems of quality and operations
  • Displays industry sector expertise
  • Understands and applies the Quality Management protocols and procedures in conduct of research activity and reporting
  • Ensures that direct reports understand and apply code as appropriate

 

Communication:

  • Proactively consults with key stakeholders
  • Communicate project requirements with internal and external suppliers and departments to gain commitment of all parties
  • Actively listens and communicates openly with clients, internal team, suppliers
  • Proactively communicate project status to all stakeholders on a timely basis.

 

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Explore new ways of working to offer better service to Cerner Enviza Network
  • Actively look to simplify and improve processes, without compromising on quality.
  • Play active role in implementation of new systems to improve efficiency of process

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support in Accreditation
  • Support in Audits (both internal and external)
  • Support in Adverse Events Reporting (client and Cerner Enviza Standard of Procedures)
  • Attain Project Management certification

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge areas and experience:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in Market Research, either agency or client side
  • Knowledge of corporate financials
  • Good knowledge of marketing and research
  • Some knowledge of Healthcare Industry would be of great advantage

This supervisory position is responsible for providing daily operations management of a small team of consultants in providing quality research-centric solutions on customer engagements. Has a working knowledge of research methodologies, analysis techniques and business processes.

Supervises a team of consultants to manage the operational performance goals. Develops and directs work schedules and monitors workflow to achieve established goals and objectives. Responsible for ensuring the team delivers functional and research-centric solutions on customer engagements. Ensure that operational policies are followed and that business objectives are achieved by focusing on best practices and process improvements. May participate in the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget. Provides coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members and take corrective actions to address poor performers. Provide input into staffing and performance decisions for team

A minimum of 5 years experience in industry relevant to the practice focus. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors or Advanced degree in a discipline relevant to area of focus. Ability to produce strategic solutions utilizing best-in class research techniques. Deep knowledge of research methodologies and protocols. Depending on the job there may be additional minimum requirements and/or preferred qualifications.
