Job summary
Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on Surface Mounting Technology (SMT)/Board Assembly (BA) from LAB126 Manufacturing Operations, they established a SMT competence center in local, aim to launch SMT/BA flawlessly for all programs in the new product instruction (NPI) builds. The mission of the SMT competence center is to drive readiness of footprints' minimization and future challenges on New, Unique, Different, and Difficult (NUDD) technologies. The SMT competence center released manufacturing process standards to align with the design teams on the continuous Design for Manufacturability (DFM) improvement. The SMT competence center will build audit capability at Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to assess their SMT ability, identify the gap, and solve issues. In the meanwhile, the SMEs from SMT competence center will also locate in local CM factories and work with cross-functional teams to manage end to end process for certain sustaining products, like post ramp qualification, all kind of initiatives, and daily execution, to ensure products can be shipped out CM factories in time and with the highest quality standards.

Key job responsibilities
· Drive SMT (Surface mounting technology) /BA (Board assembly) process development during NPI phase.
· Drive DFM ensure no violations and manage PCBA build execution during NPI phase.
· Participation in design & planning through DFM, Line balancing, as well as Process Yield, Capacity and Cost Modeling
· Work with CM’s engineering teams to identify and escalate manufacturing challenges by enforcing DFM and DFT principles
· Review and approve of design, specifications and qualifications for process flow (SMT / PCBA)
· Review and approval of Fixtures Designs & Qualification (SMT/BA, FATP, Device build)
· Review and execute Manufacturing Test Coverage Documents to ensure new products launch.
· Define the process qualification criteria, manage the qualification activities, and complete the documentation.
· Leading our efforts for root cause and corrective action for all manufacturing process related issues, dive deep to analyze the problems found both in and out of the factory.
· Work with sustaining engineering team on the opportunities to improve our product, owns the technical readiness of PRQ in CMs.
· Ensure technical readiness for product ramp and serve as technical lead/advisor to factory operations managers
· Driving test flow optimization, process and yield improvements to exceed our volume production goals
· Periodically audit the CM for manufacture process quality management system.
