About the team

A key driver of NetSuite’s success in meeting the needs of our broad customer base is the SuiteCloud Platform, a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) for customizing and extending NetSuite’s core capabilities. Customers build on the platform directly or install SuiteApps built on the platform by independent solution vendors. We’re looking for ambitious and creative developers with a track record for innovation in cloud-based applications and/or platforms to join NetSuite’s platform team, delivering the cloud’s leading environment and APIs for enterprise solution development.  

The Platform SuiteScript UI team is a brand-new team in the Platform organization which will be based in Barcelona. The goal of this new team is to enable our customers, partners and internal services teams to build rich UI applications on top of our platform using a the new NetSuite native UI Framework with a Single Page Application architecture.  

 

What you will do

You will be involved in the implementation and testing of a solution to enable our customers to build Single Page Applications on top of our Platform. This does not mean creating a new UI framework, our goal is to enable the capability of using UI frameworks in our PaaS offering so our customers can build rich interfaces on top. In addition, you will be ensuring the quality and backwards compatibility of UI related APIs in our PaaS libraries (see https://docs.oracle.com/cloud/latest/netsuitecs_gs/NSAPI/NSAPI.pdf). As a software engineer in test, you will be part of our test engineering team, working closely with product managers, product developers, technical writers and user experience designers.

As part of this, you will be involved in our agile testing process sprint by sprint and will work with other engineers on the testing strategy for each release. You will participate in the risk analysis process and, using best practices, propose mitigation plans that will involve test automation (both API and UI level), performance, smoke, exploratory testing and others.  You will also work closely with other development teams and departments to define and implement a new product offering while ensuring the continued functionality of the existing SuiteCloud Platform.

Qualifications/skills

• B.S. or Master’s in computer engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years’ software testing experience
• 5+ years’ experience with Java (C# or similar)
• 5+ years' experience with JavaScript
• Understanding of HTTP, Internet protocols, web browsers
• Solid experience with testing methodologies and techniques 
• Knowledge of ECMAScript versions and browser compatibility
• Great problem-solving skills and ability to understand functional requirements
• Experience testing high performance scalable applications
• Very good written and oral communication skills in English are required
• Open mind for discussion and team collaboration
• Work permit for Spain is required for this role

 

Recommended

• Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM development team
• Experience with test automation for web applications (integration/UI/JS testing)
• Good understanding of SQL
• Solid ability to understand development of web applications and client-side UI frameworks (experience with Angular, React or similar frameworks is a plus)
• Previous experience testing cloud applications or PaaS
• Understanding of cloud-based distributed software applications

Responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for company products with adherence to both internal and external standards. Develops and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions.

As a member of the technical/process QA division, you will develop quality standards, control methods and theories to be utilized during manufacturing, testing and inspection to access product quality. Develop standards and procedures to provide quality guidance methods.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
