We're looking for a Principal Software Developer talent to join our world-wide MySQL Middleware and Client team. We are the team that created the MySQL NoSQL document store and delivered MySQL's second generation client-server X Protocol to the "DBMS of the Year 2019" (according to DB-ENGINES). Our current bestseller is the MySQL InnoDB Cluster solution.

 

YOUR PRODUCT

You will be working on a new upcoming module for the MySQL Router. MySQL Router is a key component of every MySQL high availability and delivers critical protocol routing infrastructure. This new module will add a high performance REST interface to MySQL, making MySQL even more accessible to modern web applications. It is written in C++17, uses
HTTP/2 and REST.

 

YOUR CHALLENGE

Your new team develops the REST interface for MySQL. As a member of the developer team you will design, develop and maintain the product, develop and implement tests. You will be working closely with the QA team and support teams. We are a distributed team with colleagues in your country. You may work from home assuming the necessary skills.

 

THE YOU WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You are strong C++ software developer. You worked on distributed systems and are curious about their architecture. You worked with databases. You are skilled at debugging and troubleshooting complex software and/or networking issues, performing root cause analysis. You are a productive, proactive team-player and good communicator who thrives when collaborating with others.

Must have:

•      BS, MS or PhD degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent or more years of working experience
•      Skilled at writing and debugging C++17 code
•      Skilled at designing and reviewing new features
•      Excellent spoken and written communications skills in English
•      Excellent communication and coordination skills
•      Ability to coordinate and work effectively within a geographically distributed team.

Nice to have:

•      Knowledge of MySQL as a user
•      Knowledge/User of MySQL
•      Experience with Cloud infrastructure

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
