We're looking for a highly motivated, experienced and smart engineer to work on the development infrastructure for Oracle Cloud core components. This person will be responsible for the development and support of Linux userland and boot packages.

RESPONSIBILITIES\:

- Maintain and develop open source-based products
- Work with internal Oracle teams and open source communities on improvements and optimizations of Linux userspace components

QUALIFICATIONS\:

- Strong technical background
- 3 years of DevOps, Software Development or Quality experience
- 3 years of Python programming experience
- 3 years of C/C programming experience
- 3 year of shell programming experience
- excellent knowledge of Linux OS
- excellent troubleshooting skills
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure)
- hands-on experience with containers and Docker
-  experience with Linux software package management systems is a plus
- working knowledge of Java is a plus
- good knowledge of KVM is a big plus
- good knowledge of cloud and container technologies is a big plus
- good knowledge of networking is a big plus
- experience with ARM hardware is a plus!|!Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
