As senior member of database engineering group, within NetSuite business unit, you'll work in a role to diagnose and resolve performance issues with overall database instance. You'll encounter a variety of interesting problems and find ways to solve them rapidly and effectively. A positive desire to learn, listen, think, test, and fix problems daily is essential to success. 

You should be familiar with SQL constructs, schema modelling and Oracle database internals like architecture (multitenancy, memory, etc), waits events, logs, etc to track down a hunch or hypothesis. Operational experience of managing backups, applying patches, etc will be supplementary and desirable but not core skills required for the role.

Also, this role has option to choose your own working week - Monday to Friday, Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday as regular working week.

Related education & industry experience:
A Bachelor's degree in a technical area or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required. 
A candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in performance tuning, database development, software engineering, or database engineering; or directly related SQL tuning experience in other roles such as QA or SRE.

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
