Job Description

As a Senior Database Engineer, your ongoing efforts will be to improve performance of our SaaS application running on Oracle database. If you are passionate performance tuning engineer this role is for you! On daily basis, you will encounter a variety of interesting problems and find ways to solve them rapidly and effectively. 


Key responsibilities\:


-- Be hands-on in your approach, often modifying SQL and analysing its performance using various techniques 
-- Resolve performance issues reported on the database on daily basis.
-- Look for patterns of problem and find metadata to track down a hunch or hypothesis. 
-- Analyse AWR & ASH data
-- Analyse schema design, SQL explain plan and trace information.
-- Understand Oracle database internals (memory, architecture, etc) to be able to recommend configuration changes
-- Reproduce problems and perform root cause analysis.
-- Able to work independently on functional improvements and database related projects.  
-- Minor PL/SQL, Shell & Python scripting

Minimum degree or equivalent qualification in IT, Software Engineering or a related discipline. Candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in performance tuning, database development, software engineering or database engineering role(s).

!|!Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.!|!
