Job Description
Oracle Data Cloud enables companies to use data to inform and measure business decisions. We do it by providing Data as a Service, or DaaS, to help create connections to customers across channels and devices. The Oracle Data Cloud was created through the acquisition of BlueKai, expanded through the acquisition of Datalogix and later, through the acquisitions of AddThis and Crosswise. These brands live on as products within the Oracle Data Cloud.

The team, ODC Platform Engineering, is responsible for the design, implementation and support of our Kubernetes infrastructure and all cluster services that ensure our engineering teams have reliable infrastructure at their disposal that solves their problems efficiently. You’ll be using Kubernetes, Prometheus, ELK, Grafana, Go and more on a regular basis!

Responsibilities.
- Develop highly scalable microservices and APIs to monitor, manage and support our Kubernetes infrastructure and the needs of our engineering teams.
- Resolve outages, automate tooling to improve operations and drive postmortems.
- Participate in code reviews and architecture reviews.
- Drive engineering teams to converge towards devops best practices around cloud native applications, Kubernetes, Prometheus and more.
Requirements\:
- Experience in one or more of the following\: Go or Java
- BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Strong fundamentals including an understanding of algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design.
Ideal Applicants\:
- Proficient in Java/Scala/Go/Python/scripting
- Experience with developing cloud-native applications and 12 Factor App principles
- Understanding of Docker and a container orchestration platform like Kubernetes, Mesos/Marathon, or Docker Swarm.
- Understanding of monitoring, alerting and logging frameworks such as Prometheus, ELK and Grafana.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet
- Experience with AWS, GCE, Azure or other public cloud environments
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
