Who we are:

We are building a new R&D team in the Czech Republic that will be responsible for development of Oracle Private Cloud Appliance (PCA). We are looking for senior developers to develop key parts of the PCA infrastructure and services. This is a great opportunity to join a new team at the beginning and contribute to a unique product.

We are a small and agile team spread within the Czech Republic using modern technologies with a focus on innovations. We are part of a large international team (approx. 80 engineers) located primarily in the US. Our work is a combination of coding (python/Java) and building infrastructure (IaC). We work with Oracle Cloud and other modern technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm Charts, Git, Linux, etc.

 

What is Oracle Private Cloud Appliance:

The Oracle Private Cloud Appliance (PCA) is a strategic product in Oracle’s Cloud lineup. It is an on-premises cloud-native engineered system that provides our customers with a highly scalable, multi-tenant Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). It is a complete, on-premises cloud solution that comes complete with cloud-native technologies, including automated Kubernetes set-up out of the box. In short, the PCA brings Oracle Cloud to customers’ on-premises environment. The PCA is used by our major customers that want to keep their data under control in their data centers.

What will you do?

You will work on PCA projects development. There are multiple ongoing projects, one of them we are currently working on is a PCA simulator. The project mimics functionality of the physical PCA hardware. The project will be deployed and run in Oracle Cloud (OCI). This key project will be used by the development and test groups around the world. You will work with the existing PCA engineering team, PCA architects, and you will contribute to a project design. The development is done mostly in the Oracle Cloud (OCI).

What you should bring and be passionate about?

We are looking for an enthusiastic senior engineer with a passion for modern technologies. You should:

  • Have knowledge of at least a few of the following – Linux, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm Charts, RESTful APIs, Gitlab, or equivalent technologies
  • Be passionate about technology in general, be able to learn new technologies quickly
  • Have good English communication skills
  • Be comfortable with complex, rapidly evolving software development environments
  • Be comfortable with working in a geographically distributed team

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
