Job Description

This role is available in the OCI Developer Services organization as a Senior Director of Product Management leading our Cloud-Native Services charter. Cloud-Native services at OCI cover a wide portfolio, manifesting as the following set of existing services – Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes, Oracle Functions, API Gateway, API Platform Service – as well as a few new services currently being incepted. These services are at the vanguard of delivering the bleeding edge of cloud-native infrastructure and application capabilities to a very significant enterprise-oriented developer customer base.

In this role, you will be responsible for defining the vision going forward for our Cloud-Native service portfolio, and leading a team of Product Management leaders to execute on that vision, enabling our developer customers to leverage a full set of capabilities that allow them to build, deploy and operate their cloud-native applications in Oracle Cloud.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a Senior Leader, who will lead a team of Product Management leaders who ensure both inbound and outbound success of our Cloud-Native services. You will own and drive the creation of the vision, product strategy, creation and execution of services that addresses our customer’s business challenges to create differentiated value in the market. You will work with a diverse set of stakeholders to define, build, operate, and grow our cloud-native services business, contributing directly to the overall cloud business at Oracle. As a key leader on the team, you will play a critical role in shaping OCI’s overall Developer adoption strategy as well.

Responsibilities\:

  • Define and understand target markets and build products that leverage Oracle’s unique strengths in data to lead in those markets
  • Evangelize product strategy and vision with stakeholders.
  • Work, directly, with key customers to understand their requirements, decipher blockers and translate the feedback into actionable items to improve service offerings and create new products.
  • Interface, closely, with field sellers and solution architects to address any gaps in the respective services, in a timely fashion.
  • Evaluate markets trends and know the competitive landscape, in depth.
  • Drive product launches, including working with\: sales and presales field teams, marketing resources and our customers to ensure a successful release/launch.

Minimum Qualifications\:

  • BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of combined experience in Product Management and Solutions architecture
  • Proven track record for shipping/launching entirely new products/services and products/services customer adoption in the cloud.
  • Ability to define & shape the business strategy for large product areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong and experienced customer focus and engagement.
  • Able to engage, communicate and manage customer CxO relationships.

Preferred Qualifications\:

  • MS in a technical discipline/MBA
  • Experience working on a public cloud service, and in-depth knowledge of IaaS/PaaS industry and competitive capabilities
  • Strong customer focus. Able to engage, communicate, and manage customer CxO relationships
  • Strong domain knowledge and experience around\: Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), Serverless patterns and Open-source strategies,  
  • Breadth of different services across different cloud offerings is a plus
  • Specific knowledge of certain industries and drivers of potential projects
  • Hands-on experience conducting demonstrations (demos) using tools and related services that show the potential value of solutions
!|!Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Senior Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interacts internally and externally with executive management, providing negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience preferred.
