OAL runs the applications that run Oracle.  ERP New Initiative is a global organization within OAL and is responsible for the Fusion Migration to the Oracle Cloud program, a multi-year corporate initiative to move Oracle's internal business applications to the cloud.  The Fusion Migration PMO drives OAL’s development of custom solutions and implementation of Oracle Cloud Applications, testing, production transition, and post go-live stability support. 

 The Senior IT Project Manager/SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) will report to the Senior Director, Fusion Migration to Oracle Cloud PMO, and will be responsible for driving initiatives, programs, and projects to successful completion.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Senior IT Project Manager role will have project management responsibilities on programs and projects.  The SAFe RTE role is the primary servant-leader on an Agile Release Train (ART) but may also serve as a scrum master or product owner/product manager.  Additional responsibilities include managing testing, releases, and production transition; hosting production stability, bug review, or other meetings; and other roles as required.  Experienced project managers will be considered for training to become a SAFe RTE. 

• Program or project manager:  Manage programs and projects simultaneously to successful completion
• SAFe RTE:
  • Be a servant leader and coach for the ART
  • Facilitate the ART events and processes
  • Assist the teams in delivering value
  • Facilitate removal of impediments to help the ART and the teams to deliver business values via committed PI objectives
  • Engage and communicate with OAL and business stakeholders, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement
  • Synchronize within the ART and across other ARTs
• Work closely with OAL development teams, ATG, product development, and other stakeholders to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and remove impediments
• Track and communicate program, project, and ART metrics and risks/issues
• Availability for early morning or late evening calls may be required

Required Experience/Skills:

• 10 years minimum experience in software product development as a development lead/manager or IT program/project management as a program or project manager, RTE, scrum master, or product owner/manager
• Demonstrated SAFe knowledge
• SAFe implementation experience
• Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
• Possesses strong communication and analytical skills and a thorough understanding of product development and product management
• Excellent interpersonal skills, good with people, and ability to negotiate
• Knowledge on product management, software development, DevOps, CICD, and Agile methodologies 

Tools:

• Microsoft Office (MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
• Atlassian JIRA, Confluence or other Agile project management tools

Education, certification, & training experience:

• BS/BA degree required; MS, MIS, or MBA is a plus.
• PMI PMP, SAFe, CSM, or similar certification/training is a plus.

Coordinates all aspects of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, PC deployment and the like.

Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project specifications, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments. Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training and on-time delivery within budget constraints.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically seven years of project management, product design or related experience needed.
