Job Description

Join the Java Platform group and leverage Java product knowledge to deliver solutions based on customer requirements and contribute to the value of Oracle Java. We are looking for a talented engineer to contribute to our team’s delivery of the highest level of Java support. You will work on Java engagements in customer environments as well as supporting innovative products such as Java Management Service (JMS) in the Oracle Cloud.

You will be an advocate for Java customers while working collaboratively with Support, Java Product Teams, JMS Service Team, Java Developer Relations, Sales and Marketing groups, external partners and the OpenJDK community as an essential part of the job.

Duties include providing strategic technical support to assure customer satisfaction. A primary focus is to create/utilize automated technology and instrumentation to diagnose, document, and resolve/avoid customer issues. You are expected to be an expert member of the technical problem solving/problem avoidance team, routinely sought after to address extremely complex, critical customer issues.

 

Responsibilities

  • Drive the effective resolution of customer’s critical technical engagements
  • Operate efficiently in a demanding environment, maintain composure, demonstrate leadership, and communicate in an exemplary manner
  • Report and communicate status to stakeholders in a timely and consistent manner
  • Identify and engage technical experts as needed
  • Meet all document requirements for Service Requests and ticket

 

Requirements

  • Experience in Customer Support or other customer facing role
  • BS/BA in Sciences or related degree
  • Experience in issue identification and troubleshooting scenarios
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java and C/C++
  • Excellent problem solver, creative thinker, and self-motivated
  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure a plus
  • Must have passion for customer satisfaction and ability to communicate complex technical information to multiple audiences
  • Able to work well both with local and remote team members
  • Strong organizational skills and written and oral communication in English, with other languages a benefit
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
