Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building a next generation Infrastructure-as-a-Service that supports the most demanding mission-critical customer requirements, operating at cloud scale to provide a secure, distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment.
The OCI Customer Engineering team is chartered with directly assisting customers in implementing workloads on OCI. This team is a customer facing group with Cloud Delivery Managers accountable for workload implementation with the support of Solutions Architects. A typical customer engagement will be to validate customer requirements, ensure proper architecture to meet the requirements and assist the customer in leverage native OCI cloud services to implement their workload. The hands-on nature of this role will result in the delivery managers and solutions architects becoming trusted advisors to the customer.
This is your opportunity to build and lead a customer engineering team with the responsibility of reducing the time between contract signing and consumption of cloud resources. In this role you will lead a team of Cloud Delivery Managers and Solutions Architects to partner with customers to support them in their implementation of workloads on OCI. You have excellent customer facing skills, are a strong manager and are capable of building and managing a sizable team. Your role will encompass managing customer engagements across JAPAC, providing accurate and timely communication and updates with sales and customer success leadership and ensuring efficient and effective customer engineering.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and lead the JAPAC based OCI Customer Engineering (OCE) organization
- Manage the success of JAPAC OCE as tracked by successful workload implementations
- Participate in deeply technical architectural discussions with customers, partners and Oracle field personnel to ensure customer on-boarding plans will result in successful customer deployments in the OCI.
- Be the public face of OCE by acting as the subject matter expert to internal Oracle teams and directly to customers.
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the field and internal teams.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and service engineering teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience in architecting, deploying and management of cloud solutions
- Proven leadership skills and experiencing managing large, distributed teams
- Strong customer facing skills learned from a background in pre-sales engineering, consulting or product management.
- Possess 10 years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or infrastructure industries and demonstrate an intermediate understanding of applications, server technology, networking and security.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills. Past experience writing and publishing technical white papers.
- BS/MS degree required; Computer Science, Math or Engineering degree with Technical background highly desired; Advanced Degree a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Past experience working directly in customer implementations is highly desirable.
- Mid-level systems administration experience on either *nix or Windows.
- Experience with Oracle technologies including applications, database, business intelligence, analytics, SOA/integration
- Experience migrating or transforming customer solutions to the cloud.
- Experience with other cloud platforms including AWS, Azure or Google Compute Platform
- Experience with Infrastructure Automated Deployment models preferably leveraging CI/CD supported by DevOps teams

As a manager in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate business needs. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management.
