Reporting to the Executive Director / Associate Director, Market Conduct, the incumbent will assume the following:

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of professional staff in processing licence applications
• Monitor ongoing compliance with the Insurance Ordinance by licensed insurance intermediaries and their appointing insurers/insurance intermediaries
• Formulate policies and procedures for processing licence applications and changes in licensees’ particulars
• Maintain close liaison with insurance intermediary bodies, insurers and fellow regulators on regulatory issues
• Identify areas of regulatory concerns and assist in the formulation and implementation of appropriate policies 

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in law, insurance, accounting or related disciplines
• At least 8 years’ relevant solid working experience, 3 years of which at managerial level or in compliance or regulatory fields
• Knowledge of local and overseas regulatory requirements, insurance products, practices and market dynamics of the insurance industry
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present complex issues concisely is essential
• Strong leadership, sense of responsibility and integrity
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese, and proficiency in Putonghua is preferred
