Summary:
Oracle NetSuite is looking for a Senior Oracle Exadata Engineer to act as a problem-solving expert on Exadata systems. You will play significant role in analyzing and resolving operational errors, building solutions, and pioneering leading-edge cloud software on the world’s most powerful and performant database platform. It is also an opportunity to learn aspects of Exadata and Cloud Services from an Oracle internal perspective, and in the near future work with Autonomous Database, Oracle’s next-generation cloud data platform. A highly qualified candidate may be considered for a Principal Engineer position in this job application.
 
Skills Required:

• Strong internal knowledge of Exadata performance and reliability; able to quickly analyse and debug problems
• Experience with Exadata OS Patching, Grid Patching and/or DB Home patching.
• Solid understanding of Oracle RAC architecture and Oracle multitenancy
• RAC performance diagnostics (Shared disk system, Clusterware, Interconnects, Kernel)
• Solid understanding of AWR, ASH reports & performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX, Linux
• Shell, python and/or perl scripting experience
• Knowledge of Exachk and CRSCTL
• Understanding of RMAN Backup/recovery configurations
• Awareness of ASM/Shared storage concepts.
• Co-ordinate with operations and infrastructure teams for resolution

Optional:

• Experience with OCI CLI apis
• SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, or ASP environment experience
• Used tools like Oracle Real Application Testing, SwingBench or HammerDB
• Oracle ADG

Related education & industry experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science with least 3 years hands on experience with Exadata and/or RAC.

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
