The Hospitality Global Business Unit is in the process of designing & developing a suite of applications using Oracle APEX and other cutting-edge technologies. As we grow out our development teams, we need talented Oracle APEX developers to join our team.

We’re looking for a senior (6+ years’ experience) Oracle Application Express developer to join our team to assist with the design, development & deployment of a brand-new suite of SaaS applications - all built with APEX. The candidate will need to be comfortable with full-cycle design and standards-based development. Experience with data modelling, PL/SQL, JavaScript, and general web development are required. Experience with a DevOps pipeline using Jira & Git is preferred, but not required.

Daily tasks will be focused around working with the product team to transform requirements into specifications and then transforming those specifications into a working APEX application. You’ll be building APEX applications on the latest release of APEX and will be required to write backend PL/SQL code using a suite of APIs to compliment the applications. An extreme emphasis is placed on security, and every bit of code created will be scrutinized for vulnerabilities. Depending on the requirement, it’s possible that you’ll also need to understand how to interact with RESTful web services in the context of APEX.

Qualifications/Required Experience:

• Expert level in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Expert level of Oracle Application Express.
• Expert level of PL/SQL
• Expert level in Oracle Database and Data Modelling
• Advanced Experience in API design and integration solutions.
• Advanced Experience in Microservices Architectures
• Experience in Version Control (Git preferred, but not required)
• Advance Experience working with most of the following (OK if you are less experienced on a couple)
  • Java programming (or similar)
  • JavaScript
  • Web Development
  • Cloud Development using Kubernetes.
• OCI, AWS or other Cloud certification is preferred, not mandatory
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with individuals across the organization
• Experience with working remote
• Experience working with Agile development frameworks

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
