Primary Responsibilities:
As a Senior Performance Engineer at Oracle Netsuite you will be responsible for driving performance in the world’s #1 Cloud Business Software Suite.

You’ll be responsible for discovering and investigating hitherto unknown performance issues in our complex cloud application suite, identifying key opportunities for improvement.

You’ll not only uncover and investigate; you will make sure developers and engineers have the tools and knowledge to do this for themselves.

You will enjoy collaborating and will share your skills and knowledge with other teams throughout the organisation, offering them guidance and coaching so that they continue to build for performance.

You will proactively help to evolve and enhance our real-time web performance monitoring, reporting and analysis tools, working with architects, developers, and data scientists to ensure we have the right instrumentation in place, and that high quality actionable information is being surfaced.

Being a great communicator, you wil be responsible for producing performance reports and analysis for key stakeholders within our organisation.
Skills/Qualifications:

3+ years experience with Web Performance Optimisation and/or Web Performance Testing, and demonstrable success of significantly improving the performance of applications.

Bachelor/Master degree in computer engineering or equivalent

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Good communication skills, both written and oral; comfortable presenting to large groups

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Oracle Netsuite is the world’s #1 Cloud Business Software Suite, which encompasses ERP/Financials, CRM, and ecommerce for more than 29,000 customers. The Performance and Availability team is responsible for Web Performance Governance & Enablement across the whole of this organisation. This means we make sure all our stakeholders understand how our applications and platform are performing, how they should be performing, and when they’re not performing properly, why they’re not.
As a key member in the Performance and Availability team, your primary responsibility will be the “why”. Using tools and systems that you will help design, you will identify new performance issues within our vast and complex cloud application suite. You will lead the investigation into those issues, working with product and engineering teams as necessary to get a complete understanding of the issue. You will then hand off the issue to the relevant team to be resolved.
You will have a close working relationship with our visibility team and product development teams, and work with them to fix performance blind spots to improve our understanding of our application performance.
You will work with members of our own team and Site Reliability Engineering to improve our detection, automatic analysis, and reporting of issues.
And as an experienced Performance Engineer, you will provide information and guidance to other teams to help them build faster and more resilient applications.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
