We're a fast moving, highly skilled team responsible for building MySQL Shell, MySQL's advanced command line interface tool that implements:

• A management layer for the MySQL Server, MySQL InnoDB Cluster and ReplicaSet
• Data migration tool to get MySQL databases into the Cloud
• Utilities that DBAs in the top companies around the world rely on for their day-to-day work.
• APIs to allow doing the above operations either using Python or JavaScript

As a member of our team, you will participate in design and development activities to continue making the MySQL Shell the number one interface for the MySQL products.

We are a distributed, work from home team with colleagues all over the world. This is a fully remote position.

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years experience developing C++ software.
• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
• Speed analyzing/understanding existing code.
• Speed producing clean code.

 

VALUED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge on the latest versions of the C++ standards.
• MySQL or other database experience. (Usage/Development).
• Knowledge of distributed systems. (Knowledge/Development: consistency, availability, etc...).
• Experience with the POSIX standards and/or the Windows API (Development).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and other transport layer protocols.

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
