Oracle NSG Consulting Disconnected Cloud Operations (DCO) provides end-to-end Oracle managed services and solutions to our customers on premises. This team is responsible for providing managed services for provisioning, implementation support, production operations support, migrations and upgrades, change management, release management, cloning, performance, security, ATO, and automation solutions for selected, premium IC customers. 

 

The NSG DCO Team’s newest offering is disconnected managed services for highly secure mission needs.   A customer of this offering will obtain “Oracle Cloud@Customer” or equivalent engineered on-premises hardware installed in their datacenter, Oracle applications software, solution configurations, and database to run on that hardware, and all hardware/software support services  provided under subscription model.

 

The NSG DCO team is looking for a self motivated individual contributors and dynamic team players capable of working with our consulting team and the National Security customer directly.

 

As a member of the NSG Consulting organization, your focus is to deliver support and solutions to the Oracle IC customer while serving as an advocate for customer needs. You will offer strategic technical support to assure the highest level of customer satisfaction. A primary focus is to engage in end-to-end operations activities that cover install, patch, upgrade, maintain, diagnose, document, secure, harden, ATO, and troubleshoot. You are expected to be an expert member of the technical problem-solving/problem-avoidance team, routinely sought after to address extremely complex, critical customer issues. You will be required to work onsite at a customer facility. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization.

 

Candidates should have\:

  • 7 years experience with Core products or eight years experience with Oracle Applications products
  • Proven professional experience demonstrating an understanding of Applications at a functional and technical level (preferably Oracle).
  • BS degree in Computer Science/Management Information Systems/Science/Engineering with a 3.0 GPA or higher.


You should have 2 of the top 3 skills listed below\:

  • Experience with administration and configuration of Oracle Fusion MW, WebLogic, SOA suite, Portal, and Identity management Suite
  • Experience with administration of one of the application management suites such as  Fusion Applications, E-business suite, PeopleSoft, Siebel, etc.
  • Experience managing Oracle databases including installation, upgrade, patching, cloning, backup and recovery.
  • Troubleshooting skills for critical database, application, networking and system administration issues.
  • Experience with performance tuning and techniques ( SGA tuning, DB Tuning, Apps tuning , use of tkprof ,AWR etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Oracle Transparent Data Encryption, Database Vault, or Golden Gate would be a plus.

 

Some of expected job duties for this role involve\:

 

  • Working from customer on-site location in the Northern Virginia area while on assignment.
  • Working from an Oracle office in Reston VA while not on specific customer assignment.
  • Working on-site, rotating between two shifts (morning / late afternoon)
  • Providing on-site weekend coverage or on call coverage
  • Manage day-to-day Cloud/Managed Service Operations activities for the assigned customer, ensuring they are inline with customer's milestones.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve customer reported issues, leveraging Oracle Product support teams to maintain SLAs.
  • Help customer in Go live and ATO activities as an operations point of contact.
  • Analyze environment performance in context with customer plan and suggesting corrective action by working with internal Oracle team.
  • Taking up internal technical projects to improve overall quality of service for all customers.

 

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

 

Responsible for the operation of production environments, including systems and databases, supporting critical business operations. Will perform administration and analysis for multiple production environments and recommend new and novel solutions to improve availability, performance, and supportability. This is an opportunity to bring a combination of deep technical knowledge with administration/analysis knowledge of Oracle's Cloud/Managed Service Infrastructure to provide escalation support to a wide range of complex production environment problems related to immense growth, scaling, leveraging the cloud, extremely high performance, and high availability requirements.


Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all production server hardware and software (Bare Metal, PCA, Exadata, ODA, and ZFS). Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status. Coordinate escalated support cases and lead appropriate internal technical resources and/or third party vendors to resolution and coordinate a storage infrastructure of Oracle system and database appliances. Responsible for Oracle production environments; assist with server operating system and application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching; and work on standardization projects for both hardware and software under the Oracle technology stack while providing consistent system uptime as expected in a Cloud environment. Provide on-call support, on a rotating basis.


BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. Identifies and implements complex solutions in Technical Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment; supporting and troubleshooting distributed applications, software, and operating systems; and administering and troubleshooting issues with messaging middleware and message brokers. Knowledge of enterprise platforms. Desire to keep up with modern technology and make recommendations. Knowledge of network architecture and protocols. Experience with enterprise administrative scripting using a major scripting language and experience with software deployment. Travel may be required in accordance with business needs. Related technical experience may be substituted for degree requirements, including Infrastructure support and server administration; supporting and troubleshooting distributed applications, software, and operating systems. Advanced knowledge of network architecture and protocols. Strong experience with enterprise administrative scripting using a major scripting language. 8 years or more of related technical experience may be substituted for degree requirements, including Infrastructure support and server administration; supporting and troubleshooting distributed applications, software, and operating systems.

6-8 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
