The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the C level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers, database administrators and cloud architects. The candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions and work cross-organizationally to build consensus.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the MySQL Solution Engineering team focused on driving overall Cloud and MySQL adoption
- Handle a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the cloud computing market.
- Team with
account managements (Enterprise, SMB and startup) and provide solution selling. - Maintain strong database technical knowledge with the ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate between varied database approaches (relational, non-relational, in-memory, data warehousing, etc.)
- Gain industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee, panelist, and keynote speaker at Oracle Events and third-party technology conferences, trade shows, and press events.
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations, product demos, sample solutions, and discussions to drive awareness and adoption of MySQL and MySQL HeatWave.
- Collaborating with internal teams to define the product road map and market positioning for MySQL and MySQL HeatWave
. - Identify, drive, develop and support community user groups and developer program initiatives for analytic and big data developers.
- Create and maintain white papers, demos, and videos.
Basic Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is key.
- This person will be technical and analytical and possess significant business development, enterprise sales, or program/product management experience.
- Computer Science or Engineering required.
- Experience with solution-based selling.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS and/or GCP Certifications;
- MySQL and/or OCI Certifications;
- LAMP Stack hands-on experience;
- Database Systems Certifications;
- Experience working with MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and AWS databases.
- Masters degree highly desired; working knowledge of database administration in Cloud, software development practices, and data center/infrastructure/networking technologies highly desired.
- Experience working and traveling independently
- Experience with public speaking at conferences and meetups
As a Senior Sales Consultant you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships.
Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools. Demonstrated proficiency in one multi-user operating system. Through knowledge of system and application design. Strong verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as needed. BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable.
