Junior Cloud Microservice Developer

Oracle Management Cloud (OMC) is a suite of next-generation, integrated monitoring, management and analytics solutions delivered as a service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). It is designed for today’s heterogeneous environments; across on-premise, Oracle Cloud, and 3rd party cloud services. OMC is built on a horizontally scale-able big data platform with high throughput data processing for providing real-time analysis and deep insights across technical and business events. With OMC, customers can eliminate multiple information silos across end-user and infrastructure data, enabling rapid trouble-shooting and the ability to run IT like a business.  OMC leverages modern highly scale-able technologies\:

We are looking for talented, system software engineers to join the APM team who are interested in building a scale-able highly distributed system capable of consuming billions of metrics / day and producing easily understood conclusions about the bottle necks and failure points in large distributed applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fault tolerant, distributed systems development experience
• Built, deployed, and maintained a global cloud service, e.g.use of REST API's as a communication between services
• use of REST API's as a communication between services
• use of JSON formatted data as the payload of those REST API's
• use of Streaming service or Kafka topics
• Proficient development skills across multiple object oriented languages – Java expertise
• Experience with test driven development and continuous integration
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
• Successfully worked with local and global teams to define requirements, design, and implementation
• Driven to work in a lean, agile, test-driven environment.
• Kubernetes and service mesh (e.g. Istio)
• Cloud native services
• SQL and/or NoSQL fast/big data.
• Open Tracing

 

!|!Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
