We are looking for a hands-on, Senior Development Manager to lead our development team in Melbourne. You will be working as part of a high performing cross-functional team on a large Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) system. You will be enhancing the most widely used construction collaboration software to enable the streamlined delivery of construction and infrastructure projects around the world.

You will be leading a passionate team, taking accountability for all aspects of software design and delivery. You will be applying a range of agile project planning and delivery methodologies to continually improve productivity and reduce waste. You will be accountable for the software architecture and drive a strong quality mindset. You will be collaborating with business stakeholders and clients to address issues and discover new requirements.

 

In your role you will be working with product management, UX and other development managers to align and prioritise work. You will mentor and develop your team members while ensuring a vibrant and collaborative working environment.

 

You will:

 

• Work with senior leaders and Lead Architect to define your teams vision and roadmap by thoroughly understanding the strategy of Aconex architecture evolution and transition to strategic global platform
• Leverage off your engineering experience to mentor the team(s) to build shared services and delivery engineering capabilities for internal development teams
• Craft a growth model for the team, as well as a model for how they can effectively partner with geographically distributed teams
• Champion and drive continuous delivery processes and practices that makes it possible for engineers to get great work done

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
