We are searching for an Engineering Manager to join Bronto’s Product Development team. This is a management role; you will be directly managing two or three teams (8-12 individuals) of software engineers of all levels of seniority. We value the technical skills of Bronto’s managers, and therefore we look search for a hands-on engineer, who has a demonstrable team lead and management experience and is willing to make a further step in his/her career.

You won’t be coding, but we do expect you to be part of selected reviews, to help guide architectural decisions, to help craft and guide the development processes, and to help mentor and develop team members.


Our stack is primarily Java, and we use many Open Source technologies to create a modern (service oriented, virtualized/containerized), highly scalable application. Required Skill\:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in developing complex software systems and applications.
  • 3 years of experience in a management role in software.
  • The ability to think abstractly and solve complex problems – you will help the guide the team architecturally as required.
  • Strong cross discipline communication, organizational, and delegation skills – you’ve got to be able to work well with many people of diverse opinion to continuously deliver value to the customer.
  • The ability to guide, mentor, grow, and lead individuals and teams.

!|!Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
