• Senior Software Engineer
• Remote

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join one of our Development Teams in Melbourne or remote in Australia. You will be working as part of a high performing cross-functional team on a large Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) system. You will be growing the most widely used online collaboration platform in the world for Construction, Infrastructure, and Energy and Resources projects. Through collaboration, Test-Driven Development and good engineering principles, you will be building new, valuable functionality whilst continuously improving the design, security, scalability and reliability of the platform. We are strong believers in automation. We aspire to have all provisioning and deployment, from CI through to production, fully automated and we expect our engineers to design software with this level of automation in mind.

• Familiar with infrastructure as code practices through Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or similar

• Experience in supporting software CI/CD delivery process and application releases

• Experience with cloud-based system architecture, components, and deployments

• Experience with container administration and development using Kubernetes, Docker, or similar

• Experience in HashiCorp products such as Consul, Vault and Nomad

• Experience in AWS, Azure or Oracle Cloud

• Experience working with distributed teams

• Knowledge of security principles and best practices 

• Experience in mentoring other engineers 

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
