As an SAP database expert (Senior Software Engineer) for Performance Improvement, you will participate in a performance improvement program as part of the multinational product development team for our solution i.s.h.med.

i.s.h.med is a leading Electronict Health Record (EHR) platform with an installed base in 37 countries and more than 400K users every day.

The performance improvement program will work very closely with our clients to identify performance bottlenecks within the solution, feed the information back to IP and manage quarterly performance improvement initiatives to continuously improve performance for our clients.

You will analyze performance bottlenecks from a database / data access perspective on client implementations and identify potential solutions to improve the performance, including the replacement of traditional database access via ABAP with native HANA techniques.
You will also work mutually with the solution architects and product development teams to propose ways to improve the overall performance of the products and in some cases participate in IP projects to realize those improvements.

You will need to develop benchmarks on which performance improvements can be measured and improvements will be measured against those benchmarks.
You will share your knowledge within the development team.

Furthermore you will work mutually with the product owners to present accomplishments and collect feedback from stakeholders inside and outside of our organization.

Basic qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent relevant work experience
• 5 years of experience in Software Engineering    
• Knowledge of Database Technology and Experiences in analyzing the performance of database applications (SQL)
• Fluent in English

Preferred qualifications:

• Knowledge and experience with the SAP development platform
  (e.g., ABAP, SAP HANA and CDS Views)
• Knowledge of specific database systems e.g., of Oracle databases
• Experience with performance monitoring and analyzing tools
• Working experience with agile development principles (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
• German language skills would be an advantage
