Senior Software Engineer in Test

Oracle NetSuite is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Test to join our NetSuite Planning and Budgeting (NSPB) product development team and help us make amazing software that delights our customers. Our team’s focus is on the business planning application built on Oracle’s Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (EPBCS). We apply our deep understanding of planning and budgeting challenges to enable organizations to efficiently and effectively plan, budget, forecast and respond to rapidly changing business conditions.

The candidate must be an extremely bright, detail-oriented, and accomplished problem solver, capable of troubleshooting complex software application problems. Technical experience with test automation is required. Your daily responsibilities:

• Design and execute test plans for newly developed features and defect fixes
• Investigate, reproduce, and analyze customer reported software defects
• Maintain test automation framework and writing automated tests
• Actively participate in agile meetings with product management and engineering
• Contribute to the analysis of functional requirements

Minimum qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent in work experience and self-study
• 3-5 years of QA/QE experience
• Good knowledge of test methodologies and industry standard test tools
• Programming experience in a modern language like Java, Python or JavaScript or willingness to learn
• Experience implementing and maintaining a test framework and writing automated tests
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Willing to perform manual testing
• Excellent communicator in English in both technical and non-technical contexts
• Organized and reliable, attentive to detail, able to efficiently manage multiple tasks
• Enthusiasm about exploratory testing and scrubbing (processing incoming defects)

One or more of the following could really make you stand out:  

• Experience with Oracle EPBCS or a strong desire to learn
• Good operating system knowledge: Windows (PowerShell) and Linux (bash)
• Ability to use Linux/Unix on command line level
• Knowledge and understanding of Agile/Scrum
• Background/coursework in finance or business management

Responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for company products with adherence to both internal and external standards. Develops and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions.

As a member of the technical/process QA division, you will develop quality standards, control methods and theories to be utilized during manufacturing, testing and inspection to access product quality. Develop standards and procedures to provide quality guidance methods.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
