About the team
A key driver of NetSuite’s success in meeting the needs of our broad customer base is the SuiteCloud Platform, a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) for customizing and extending NetSuite’s core capabilities. Customers build on the platform directly or install applications, officially named SuiteApps, from the marketplace developed by independent solution vendors. Platform Performance is a brand-new Tribe in the Platform product engineering organization which will be composed of two teams, one in Barcelona and one in Manila. The goal of this new Tribe is to enable customers, partners and third-party developers to get performance visibility of their SuiteApps in production. Still a bit abstract, right? Think about your smartphone\: as a user you can see which application is consuming most of your phone's resources (battery, data bandwidth, etc.), this is equivalent of the experience we provide in NetSuite for account administrators to understand which SuiteApps are affecting the account's performance. On the other side, as an application developer putting a phone app in the marketplace, you probably want to get reports when your app is crashing in some user's phone or the performance is not great. This is exactly what the new Platform Performance tribe will focus on in the short term\: enabling visibility by building brand new tools for admins and developers to understand how their accounts and their applications are performing in production. Don't forget that SuiteApps can run in thousands of accounts so this team will need to work with big data storage (Elastic) and get to the right information for the final consumer. Mid-term, this team will also focus on projects related to performance improvements of the SuiteCloud platform.
The product built by this team will have a big impact for our customers and will contribute to NetSuite's strategy to grow and expand internationally.
What you will do
We’re looking for ambitious and creative engineers in test with a track record for innovation in cloud-based applications and/or platforms to join NetSuite’s platform team, delivering the cloud’s leading environment and APIs for enterprise solution development.
You will be involved in design and testing of a solution to enable SuiteCloud developers to get insights of their applications in production. Currently, our platform is used by more than 5K developers, pushing applications into the marketplace and distributing them to more than 25k customers. Therefore, it will be necessary to understand how data flows in our global infrastucture and how to effectively manage big volumes of data stored in a distributed database.
As part of a scrum team, you will be involved in the agile testing process sprint by sprint and will work with other engineers on the testing strategy for each release. You will also participate in risk analysis processes and, using best practices, propose mitigation plans that will involve test automation (both API and UI level), performance, smoke, exploratory testing and others. You will also work closely with other development teams and departments to define and test the new product offering while ensuring the continued functionality of the existing SuiteCloud Platform.

Qualifications/skills
- B.S. or Master’s in computer engineering or equivalent
- 5 years’ software testing experience
- 5 years’ experience with Java (C# or similar)
- 5 years' experience with JavaScript
- Understanding of HTTP, Internet protocols, web browsers
- Solid experience with testing methodologies and techniques
- Knowledge of ECMAScript versions and browser compatibility
- Great problem-solving skills and ability to understand functional requirements
- Experience testing high performance scalable applications
- Very good written and oral communication skills in English are required
- Open mind for discussion and team collaboration
- Work permit for Spain is required for this role
Recommended
- Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM development team
- Experience with test automation for web applications (integration/UI/JS testing)
- Good understanding of SQL and Elastic
- Experience with Application Performance Management systems
- Previous experience testing cloud applications or PaaS

As a member of the technical/process QA division, you will develop quality standards, control methods and theories to be utilized during manufacturing, testing and inspection to access product quality. Develop standards and procedures to provide quality guidance methods.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
