Job Description

Oracle Utilities’ technology platform is transforming the way utilities relate to their customers.The Opower solutions, which became part of Oracle in 2016, have generated nearly 25 TWh in energy savings and helped consumers save over $2B on their utility bills. We have also helped utilities to build loyalty and get the most out of each contact with their customers.

 

We are seeking a Senior Solution Manager to join our small, elite team comprised of the company’s top thinkers and thought-leaders. The role is to own the market evaluation, go-to-market strategy, and business performance management for a set of Opower products, and to ensure that our products continue to deliver value for our utility clients around the world.

 
Sample Responsibilities
  • Market Evaluation\: Help inform investments in new and existing products by evaluating what capabilities we need and whether we should build, buy, or partner.
  • Business Cases\: Create business cases and strategies for product capabilities required to meet solution needs. Gather and analyze data and prioritize market trends and direction.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy\: Help drive overall go-to-market and pricing strategy, planning and execution for solutions consisting of Opower products and services. 
  • Subject Matter Expertise\: Serve as a subject matter expert on solutions internally with sales and marketing and externally at conferences and with analysts.
 
About you\:
  • You’re high-horsepower, analytical and creative in your thinking; you have an ability to distill complex ideas in succinct and compelling ways, and communicate them verbally or through strong written communication
  • You are a skilled presenter with experience presenting to senior executives
  • You are a pragmatic and practical self-starter – an outcomes-oriented person who can juggle multiple workstreams, loves to problem-solve and can efficiently drive a collaborative process
  • You thrive on challenge, and take pride in being an excellent teammate
  • You care about energy efficiency and demand-side management and the opportunity to save energy and money for consumers
  • You are willing to travel occasionally to support our sales team and clients
  • You have 6-10 years of relevant experience, and a bachelor's degree

  • You’ve worked at a software firm in a role such as product marketing, product management, or solution architecture
  • You have experience or exposure to the utility, energy or clean tech sectors, and are excited about the intersection of energy technology

!|!Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
