Voice and conversational experiences transcend existing models of interaction. This is a new frontier and requires a different approach than we’ve traditionally taken to improving our user interfaces – it requires a service-based approach. Primary Responsibilities
  • To sell a vision of exceptional, rich and fulfilling conversational experiences for your assistant.
  • Craft high-level and detailed storyboards, mockups and task flows to effectively communicate chat and voice interaction and design ideas.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive voice user interface (VUI) design specifications in collaboration with Engineering. Define and extend conversational and voice personalities for various new product areas. Help define the “voice” of our assistants.
  • Evaluate usability and audio consistency of existing dialog flows and recommend design changes.
  • Contribute to our collection of guidelines, best practices, reference artifacts, and resources to support all of our teams to assist in conversational and VUI design. 
 
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline (Digital Design, HCI, Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, Journalism, Psychology) 
• 3-5 years of experience in UX/UI/VUI design, interaction design, design research, writing, or a related field 
• Experience with the full product development process from vision to shipping and monitoring 
• Experience in a design or strategy role on a large-scale product team 
• Knowledge of the software development cycle and Agile processes 
• Strong interest in voice or other conversational interfaces
• Exceptional and demonstrable problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
• A portfolio is required for an interview

!|!Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically seven years of software engineering or related experience needed.
