Senior User Experience Designer - CEGBU

Oracle's Construction and Engineering Global Business Unit is the leading global provider of cloud-based construction solutions. Our customers rely on Oracle construction and engineering software to coordinate teams, provide control and visibility on projects, minimize risk and deliver on time and within budget.

There will be technical hurdles with plenty of complexity and assumptions to unpack, but that’s what makes it interesting!

Our team is seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to help us continue placing customers at the heart of everything we do.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate close collaboration and coordination with product strategy, technical product management, engineering, the wider global design team and executive leadership group. We’ll be relying on your skills to help expand the product teams understanding of customer’s needs, behaviors, and motivations.   

You a curious person with a growth mindset who loves telling stories to communicate your ideas. You don’t already know everything there is to know, rather you seek to continuously learn and improve. You are highly comfortable with ambiguity. Actively seeking feedback and data points to fine-tune your assumptions is a major part of your design process.

A year from now you will have created connections across the organization, synchronizing and influencing beyond your own team. You will have played a key role in designing innovative experiences that customers love. You’ve been helping other designers to grow, guiding their work and providing mentorship to improve.

Qualifications & previous experience

  • BA/BS degree in Design, HCI, CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience, or equivalent industry specific experience.

  • 4+ years of demonstrable industry experience in UX design or information architecture. Experience with visual and interaction design tools.

  • Experience with visual and interaction design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe CS, InVision etc.).

  • Demonstrable experience designing products for Android, iOS and Web.

  • Demonstrable experience conducting usability test sessions and customer research.

 

Desirable Experience

  • Journey Mapping / Service design

  • Design Thinking

  • Knowledge of cloud computing.

  • Knowledge of the construction and engineering sector.

Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically four years of software engineering or related experience needed.
