Senior Software Developer (Jakarta EE)

Are you fluent in Java, keen to deliver solidly engineered work and have experience with server-side Java development?

Oracle Jakarta EE team is looking for highly motivated Senior Java Developers. The role offers an exciting opportunity to join our development team in Prague, working on cutting edge technologies and modules which are a part of Jakarta EE framework. You will be able to participate and shape development of next versions of Jakarta EE specifications and compatible implementations.

Other responsibilities include interaction with external or internal customers, participation in the open source community reviews, mailing lists, forums and blogs, possibility to present the results of your work at recognized industry conferences.

Qualifications / experience

Preferred knowledge\:

•     BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

•     Ability and motivation to solve complex problems, providing hands-on resolution of technical issues

•     Expert level programming skills in Java, minimum 5 years of experience

•     Strong experience with Java EE/Jakarta EE and standards

•     Experience using and developing RESTful APIs using JAX-RS, JSON

•     Expansive knowledge of issues related to building Cloud infrastructures

Ideally, you can also demonstrate\:

•     Prior hands-on experience in developing and deploying Microservices solutions on Cloud infrastructure

•     Experience in working with Docker

•     Experience with the UNIX-like environment (Linux, etc.) shell scripting

•     Experience with building tools such as Maven, Gradle and Ant

•     Fluent communication in English (both written and spoken)

•     Ability to learn new technologies
