Brief Posting Description:

A Senior Principal Member of Technical Staff is required within Unified Operations for the Oracle Communications Applications Unified Designer product.  This Cloud Native product provides a powerful environment that simplifies and accelerates introduction of new, competitive services that operators need to bring to market. Unified Designer empowers operators to produce new services with full support of the service life cycle, including the design, build, test and deploy of services, and includes service documentation generated from the tool as you build, freeing operator personnel to spend more time creating value-added services. The incumbent is a Senior Principal Software Developer who is a full stack developer with cloud development experience, located at Greater Toronto Area or Ottawa, Canada. You would be involved in all aspects of the product development life cycle including product design, implementation, product customer support, internal support for professional services, and product evolution. 

Key Attributes:

• Demonstrate extensive design and programming experience with Java, RESTful API, XML Schema, XSLT, XPath, JSON
• Excellent understanding of cloud technology stack and micro-services architecture
• Possess good written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to provide technical leadership and mentoring to software developers and testers
• Ideally, solid development experience and knowledge of Eclipse Platform, CI/CD, Kafka, Oracle DB, and Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent. 10+ years of software development experience with Java and cloud development 
• Excellent working experience with requirement analysis including writing and working with use cases
• Excellent understanding of agile principles and methodologies
• Good understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies
• Good knowledge and experience with Web Services, OAuth2, SMAL and LDAP
• Familiar with HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
• Proficient in agile delivery management tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Good Telecom domain knowledge

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
