Oracle has built an infrastructure from scratch, which supports patching of the Cloud software with zero downtime. A large part of that effort is building cutting-edge patching capabilities. The scale at which Oracle operates makes the system a one of a kind. We are looking for exceptional software engineers with background in java, scripting, and distributed systems.
The mission of the Productivity Engineering team is to built state of the art software, that improves the efficiency of other Oracle development organizations. The team is focused on automating the creation and delivery of software updates to Oracle customers and to the Oracle Cloud. A key aspect of the role is innovating to keep pushing the limits of automation. As such you will have the opportunity to experiment and develop with a variety of tools, and code across multiple programming languages best adapted to specific automation areas, from java, to scripting languages, to Database PL/SQL programming.
The Productivity Engineering team offers a unique opportunity to work on a full-stack standalone product and suite of services within a large-scale enterprise organization. As a software engineer in this team, you will own the complete lifecycle of code you write: from its design and implementation, to its maintenance in a 24/7 production environment used by thousands of developers. As a full-stack product, we have engineering work at every layers: From User Interfaces and Web services development, to back-end OO programing, Databases, Server, and network optimizations within a high-availability distributed system.

Qualifications

 

• You should be passionate about Java, Scripting, distributed systems and cloud computing and need to possess deep Computer Science expertise, and also excel at written and verbal communication. 

Minimum Skills:

• A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in any one of Computer Science/Engineering, Information Science/Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in programing languages including but not limited to Java/Python/Perl
• Experience with cloud Webservices, REST APIs, designing and developing optimized and scalable solutions
• Good Operating System fundamentals with experience in one or more Unix flavors like Solaris/Linux etc
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
• Bonus Skills
• Experience building solutions on the cloud public/private
• Familiarity with Agile
• Familiarity with code versioning tools like GIT
• Experience in PLSQL is a Plus.

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
