Job Description
Manage a team that develops innovative analytical software application services.
As a Director of the software engineering & Dev Ops, you will apply your extensive knowledge
of software architecture, Development, Operations (DevOps) to supervise software development teams that build analytical software applications,
operate the services according to current and future design specifications.
Manage a team that builds enhancements within existing software architecture and envisions improvement to the architecture and deployment.
Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management
involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge.
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development.
BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 15 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
As a leader of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution
of standard practices and procedures for operating services. Suggest and justify product directions within approved directions.
Define responsibilities for new projects and specifies, designs and develops software according to those specifications and operate the service
Acknowledged expert/professional within company and/or industry nationally and internationally. Provides leadership in the development and
strategic direction of new products, processes, and techniques. Acts as thought leader on large projects that effect the organization*s long term objectives / strategy.
15 years of engineering and management experience
10 years of experience managing and coaching engineers and tech leads
A track record of owning large engineering and operations projects from conception to delivery and solving open-ended challenges that require experimentation and iteration
The ability to listen, teach/mentor, learn, propose ideas, build consensus, collaborate, and compromise.
Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, tenacity, and curiosity
Experience with leading teams that build Analytic Apps, Infrastructure Services (Compute, Storage, Networing),
Compute frameworks (Spark, MapReduce, etc.), Web frameworks, and orchestration frameworks (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
Experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform, Linux, and cloud application architecture
Familiarity with data storage and access paradigms, including relational databases, key-value stores, and distributed queues
Experience running Operations, Incident Management, Escalations, Customer Communications

BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
