Job Description
Oracle Applications Labs (OAL) is a part of Oracle Applications Development that runs Oracle software. OAL is responsible for implementing, running, and improving nearly all of Oracle's Enterprise On-Premise and Cloud Applications.

We use Oracle’s business requirements as a "test bed" for innovation. We often are ahead of the standard product roadmap and build extensions and custom applications to meet the needs of our 120,000-employee, Fortune 100 Company.

Once proven, our ideas and innovations quickly find their way back into the core product.
We also ensure that Oracle is always Oracle’s best reference for our enterprise applications.

Responsibilities include\:
  • Team building activities such as hiring, mentoring & training team members.
  • Owning the overall production instance of some critical functional modules.
  • Collaboration with cross functional teams within OAL to understand the production issue and deliver the solutions.
  • Helping team members to build and execute their career development plan.
  • Assisting team on various projects & production support issues.
  • Monitoring & balancing the workload of team members.
  • Working closely with Application Owners, Solution specialists, peers and other POC’s on various functional & technical issues.
  • Interacting frequently with manager to understand the global priorities of the team.
  • Assigning tasks to team members based on priorities and individual interests.
  • Is the single Point of Contact for day-to-day operational functions and processes and issues in respective area
  • Conducting regular and periodic reviews of the production support operation to monitor status and improve the operation’s efficiency.
  • Monitoring the timely application of patches and testing of production support fixes.
  • Interacting closely with the key business contacts to resolve escalated issue, production support, training etc.

Qualifications\:
  • Education\: B.E/MCA/M.TECH (or equivalent) degree is required
  • Proven Information Technology experience of at least 8 years with 2 years in a Managerial role or equivalent Project leadership and Project resource management skills
  • At least 3-4 years IT implementation or development experience with Oracle ERP, or SaaS applications and web based programming technologies
  • Strong working experience working with SQL, PL/SQL, Java, XML and related technologies in order to act as technical mentor for team
  • Previous Experience in Oracle R12 eBusiness Suite,Oracle Fusion Applications – nice to have
  • Knowledge of Incentive Compensation process a major plus
  • Experience of building, developing and building a successful IT teams
  • Proven ability to work well within a global team and in a matrix management structure is required
  • Proven, demonstrable ability to provide guidance, motivation and leadership to the team
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks, actions and resources to operate effectively on multiple projects
  • Must be a strong team player
  • Hands-on skills, willing to dig in and crank out code
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking
  • Proven analytical skills, attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work in a cross team environment and problem solve technical issues
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical conversation
!|!Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience.
