We are looking for a proven, seasoned
engineering leader to lead this engineering platform development. You will lead
the team that will be chartered with creating engineering systems that
developers use for application and service development; service management
platform that automates majority of operational activities and analytics
instrumentation that provides deep insights into service and customer behavior.
In this role, you will be responsible
for the following –
- Drive industry leading
technologies and strategies into the Oracle SaaS cloud platform
- Fundamentally invert the
man-machine equation in how services are built and managed by maintaining
clear pulse on eliminating all human intervention in engineering systems
management and service management
- Develop vision, sell
direction and create an innovative roadmap through an understanding of
business needs and the valuation of technical options
- Oversee the development of business
cases, success metrics and specifications for your areas of responsibility
- Maintain a well communicated
backlog with cost and value details
- Drive the organization and
tracking of all the components that will necessary to improve service
reliability and uptime
- Be able to identify
innovative opportunities and be able to organize groups of people to make
them a reality
- Ensure initiatives delivered
as specified, on time, as budgeted and with quality
- Build analytics that
provides deep insights into engineering efficiency; developer velocity;
operational and support efficiency and service quality
- Be an advocate of scalable
and extensible, recoverable, manageable architecture for SaaS services
- Build a culture that
motivates, engages and encourages employees to be their best and deliver
their best and attracts top level talent.
Ideal Experience
- Strong technical acumen;
creativity; interpersonal skills; emotional intelligence
- 15 years of cloud / service
development /product management / operations leadership
- Experience working in a
matrixed environment with distributed accountabilities and unclear
precedents
- Deep understanding of the
service development, orchestration, release, source control and workflow
management eco-systems
- Deep understanding of
operational bottlenecks; service monitoring eco-systems; service
provisioning; recoverability and manageability challenges
- Proven track record of
delivering scalable, global, efficient and reliable software services
- Broad understanding of
various cloud development technologies and trends; developer preferences
and challenges
- Independent and resourceful
- Exceptional grasp of
business strategy and technical concepts
- Ability to quickly learn and
understand the capabilities and limitations of technology
- Experience building and
defending financial models
- Must possess strong
initiative and drive for continuous improvement
- Experience with managing
change. Proven collaborative and capability to influence where there is no
direct authority
!|!Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to current and future design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision improvements to the architecture.
Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
