Healthcare Global Business Unit (HCGBU) is a new business unit created from scratch at Oracle. HCGBU is not started from acquisitions in a traditional way, but instead we aim to use “startup” approach and build clean and scalable platform and products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designs, implements and directs the activities of a software systems development function, software applications development function, and/or a software quality assurance function.
• Provide leadership, career development, and mentoring for the team
• Desire to advance team members professional development and career progression
• Hands-on approach to better understand the technical challenges faced by the Team; guide the team in technical solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Participates in problem management processes to look for tooling, automation and monitoring opportunities to improve performance and management of systems and networks
• Makes decisions based on divisional and business objectives that directly impact results
• Works under the general direction of executive-level management

 PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• 6+ years of technology-related experience in product technology/startup companies, building high volume, highly reliable, and scalable product development using open source technology stack with extensive experience in Javascript / Java / RDBMS and No SQL DB technologies
• Deep production-grade experience with Microservices architecture
• Minimum of 2 years in managing development teams of technical professionals and cross-functional experience
• Extremely hands-on technically; should have a deep passion and curiosity for technology
• Excellent communicators and well versed in building leaders and high-performance teams
• Strategic thinking and leadership skills to review other important requirements
• Experience in developing software projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies with geographically distributed teams is highly desired
• Must have a BTech degree in Computer Science or related field from top universities; MS in Computer Science or related fields strongly preferred

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
