Job Description

The NetSuite CX product development team leads the delivery of the customer experience tools for the #1 cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. Our organization is dedicated to flexibility, purpose, and a clear vision.


We are looking for a Software Development Manager to lead one or more small Agile teams located on the beautiful American Tobacco Campus in our downtown Durham, NC office.

About the Role

As a Software Development Manager, you will lead a team of engineers that are organized into small agile teams. Our agile teams are self-organizing and deliver in 2 week increments. We develop iteratively and use SAFe to coordinate with our teams across the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Support, train, and coach your team members on Agile practices
  • Collaborate strongly across the organization to drive successful product development and foster a collaborative environment for your teams
  • Drive technical excellence in team execution
  • Provide guidance on Agile engineering practices and career development
  • Influence and collaborate with our global team that spans multiple time zones
  • Coach your direct reports and provide feedback for performance and job satisfaction, including goals setting
  • Identify and manage risks and issues
  • Work with the leaders in the Engineering, Quality, and Architecture teams to implement and improve engineering processes and achieve company objectives
  • Initial scope\: 1 to 2 squads, about 5-10 individual contributors of varying experience

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 4 years of experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems
  • Agile servant-leader
  • Strong knowledge of Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
  • Sound fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Experience with designing, launching and maintaining distributed systems at scale
  • Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies.
  • Experience coordinating tasks across various engineering disciplines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building e-commerce platforms and applications
  • SAFe or other Agile certification


!|!Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
