About the team

A key driver of NetSuite’s success in meeting the needs of our broad customer base is the SuiteCloud Platform, a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) for customizing and extending NetSuite’s core capabilities. Customers build on the platform directly or install SuiteApps built on the platform by independent solution vendors. We’re looking for ambitious and creative developers with a track record for innovation in cloud-based applications and/or platforms to join NetSuite’s platform team, delivering the cloud’s leading environment and APIs for enterprise solution development.  

The Platform SuiteScript UI team is part of the Platform organization based in Barcelona. The goal of this new team is to enable our customers, partners and internal services teams to build rich UI applications on top of our platform using a the new NetSuite native UI Framework with a Single Page Application architecture.  

What you will do

You will be designing and implementing a solution to enable our customers to build Single Page Applications on top of our Platform. This does not mean creating a new UI framework, our goal is to enable the capability of using UI frameworks in our PaaS offering so our customers can build rich interfaces on top. In addition, you will be maintaining UI related APIs in our PaaS libraries (see https://docs.oracle.com/cloud/latest/netsuitecs_gs/NSAPI/NSAPI.pdf). You will be developing in JavaScript and Java and will be thinking about clean APIs, backwards compatibility, versioning, tooling, testing and UI frameworks.

Our Platform is used by more than 40k companies around the globe with many different requirements, so our solutions should be generic enough for anyone to use them and fullfill their needs. Are you ready for the challenge?

You will work closely with other development teams and departments, product management, user experience, documentation and QA to define and implement a new product offering while ensuring the continued functionality of the existing SuiteCloud Platform.

Qualifications/skills

• B.S. or Master’s in computer engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years’ software development experience
  • SQL database experience including schema design and development of efficient queries and PL/SQL
  • Java (C# or similar)
  • JavaScript (experience with Angular, React or similar frameworks is a plus)
• Understanding of HTTP, Internet protocols, web browsers
• Knowledge of Design Patterns, Object Programming Paradigm and SOLID principles
• Knowledge of ECMAScript versions and browser compatibility
• Great problem-solving skills and ability to abstract functional requirements
• A solid understanding of metadata design and its use in the architecture of enterprise applications
• Experience in designing, architecting and implementing high performance scalable applications
• Very good written and oral communication skills in English are required
• Open mind for discussion and team collaboration
• Work permit for Spain is required for this role

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
