Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Spa Manager is responsible for the execution of clear short term and long term goals to ensure the spa is recognized as one of the finest resort spas in the world.  These goals must ensure Colleague satisfaction, Guest satisfaction, financial success, health and safety and environmental stewardship. The Spa Manager is responsible for the daily leadership of the spa employees, ensuring all productivity and expense controls are followed as well as ensuring compliance in all aspects.

Reporting to the Director of Spa, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Direct operations of the facility, including working with Director of Spa on short and long range strategic planning so that the spa operates cost effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure execution of all departmental goals.
  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to agreed budget guidelines and participate in the development of annual budgets for the departments within the facility.
  • Control the cost of goods purchased, services supplied and labor necessary to the sales and production of our products and service.
  • Manage, train, and motivate all personnel reporting to this position.
  • Ensure implementation of 12-month marketing plan.  Identify new business and marketing opportunities.  
  • Maintain professional business relationship with all vendors and development of all products inventories.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of competitors, including location, product offering, pricing, promotions and sales technique
  • Oversee departmental recruitment, development and training processes.
  • Ensure departmental adherence to Willow Stream Spa Standard Operating Procedures Manual.
  • Ownership of Spa and Hotel Pool and Gym facilities
  • Drive Accor Live Limitless loyalty membership to spa and hotel guests
  • Ensure effective communication amongst colleagues and all departments within the hotel.
  • Ensure all Colleagues follow departmental safety/health & wellness procedures.
  • Ensure that the Spa department maintains a positive relationship internally and with all departments in the hotel.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Business Administration an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in management position in a Spa or related field an asset.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry an asset.
  • Desire to provide phenomenal Guest experiences.
  • Excellent communications skills- interpersonal, written and public/media relations
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-confident, proactive and able to prioritize and make effective decisions.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, lead a team of spa professionals and cooperate with other hotel departments.

Constant standing and walking throughout shift
