Job Description

Department Description The Global Controller Operations (GCO) Team is a key part of Oracle’s world class Finance & Accounting organizations in EMEA. This progressive and innovative team comprises a dynamic group of approximately 100 financial professionals who are responsible for delivering timely, reliable and relevant financial information to its key stakeholders. This includes US GAAP accounting controllership and external statutory reporting for Oracle’s 60+ subsidiaries in EMEA, as well being as actively involved in accounting aspects of mergers and acquisitions. It also acts as a key fiduciary for all EMEA Oracle entities, proactively engaging in financial compliance and risk management.Job description The GCO Financial Controller reports directly to the Regional Controller of the relevant Oracle subsidiary, and is fully responsible for financial control and compliance of a company (or group of companies) within EMEA. This includes monthly US GAAP reporting, annual statutory reporting, local tax compliance, Sarbanes Oxley certification, audit management, preparation of financial statements, ensuring adherence and compliance with Oracle policies and controls, and supporting the Board of Directors of the legal entities. It also includes significant input into GCO activities concerning cashflow forecasting, intercompany dividends and banking. As a key member of the GCO, you will play a lead role in ensuring that all aspects of accounting controllership, internal management reporting and external statutory reporting are delivered to the highest standard. This will include the following:

· Leadership of a team of Senior Accountants, with responsibility for recruitment, goal-setting, performance management, appraisals and identifying training and development needs of the team.

· Management of all local country compliance (including statutory audits, financial statements completion, VAT, Corporate Tax, etc) ensuring all filings and payments are made timely.

· Review and approval of all material expenditure and disbursements including Payroll, VAT, Tax and Intercompany, in line with the Global Source to Settle Policy.

· Assessment and review of the operating cash flow and solvency requirements of the subsidiaries liaising with Tax, Legal and Treasury to ensure maintenance of working capital, compliance with local legislation and safe-guarding of the Board of Directors.

· Supporting the Board of Directors to ensure all compliance related matters are fulfilled for each of the subsidiaries.

· Ensure that balance sheet reviews are completed and actions are taken to clear outstanding items on a timely basis and conduct full reviews periodically.

· Management and co-ordination of the relationship with external professional advisors (including auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel).

· Ensuring that Oracle’s Global Finance Policies are applied and followed in all areas of finance, including globalised and localized process areas, including Order-to-Cash, Source-to-Settle, Treasury & Cash Management.

· Ensuring that all corporate policy changes are incorporated in the accounting process and communicated appropriately to local country staff.

· Completion of due diligence & integration accounting for acquisitions, including acting as country finance integration leader.

· Involvement in initiating, driving and leading strategic initiatives at EMEA and global levels.

Advantageous experience:

· Large PLC / multinational / Big-4 audit experience

· Exposure to Oracle Financials and/or other ERP solutions

· Exposure to Hyperion and/or other financial reporting packages

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of accounting. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
