Scope
Works as part of the MEA HR team located in Johannesburg, South Africa and report to the Country HR Leader.
This role is a great opportunity to gain and/or expand experience of the full employee lifecycle as the HR Business Partner role is exposed to a wide range of queries from Business Leaders to Employees.
Works closely with members of the Oracle EMEA HR team, HR Centre’s of Expertise and departments such as Payroll, Finance, IT, Facilities etc.
There is also an opportunity for the right candidate to partner more closely with a specific line of business (different Business Units), providing a more detailed/higher level of coaching and support.
Responsibilities:
· Demonstrate an understanding of general HR processes and systems.
· Act as a point of contact for a specific Line of Business (LOB) employees regarding HR issues; responding timeously, accurately and professionally to all correspondence and queries.
· Provide advice and guidance regarding Oracle’s HR policies, processes and procedures.
· Knowledge of BBBEE and EE reporting
· Ensure all advice, support and administration is compliant with local employment legislation and Company policies. (Employment Equity, BBBEE, Skills development Plan, Labour Relations Act, etc)
· Ensure all HR documentation is accurate, complete and up to date
· Process lead/coordinator for key HR processes – take ownership of the process and become established as a subject matter expert within the HR team; look for opportunities to improve efficiency
· Support Global HR Business Partners with Employee Relations issues in SA
· Contribute to the team objectives of knowledge transfer, process improvement and making it easier to do business with HR.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR practices.
· The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to get involved in ad hoc HR related projects
Strategic Thinker:
· Develop HR plans to support strategic fiscal year business plans, and drive implementation activities e.g.
o Manage organisational restructure & change programmes as appropriate
o Retention & Development activities of key employees
o Drive compensation planning activities
o Leverage HR data and provide analytics to business leaders to support business objectives
o EMEA-wide projects related to the overall business strategy
o Reduction in Force management across multiple countries/legal jurisdictions in partnership with Global HR Business partners
Change Agent:
· Support compensation processes (stock, bonus, salary budgets) in conjunction with Management, Leadership and compensation & benefits.
· Drive Talent Management activity in South Africa working with Senior Leaders. Facilitate Talent Review Boards, Succession Planning, and identification of Leadership talent
· Co-ordinate & manage senior level promotions
· Educate Management on available HR tools, programs, resources that support their employees retention & development
· Provide advice & opinion on Organisational Design
Problem Solver:
· Senior Stakeholder and local HR to resolve complex issues effectively i.e.
o Retention of key employees
o Exit Strategies
o Executive Recruitment
o Structural changes impacting multiple countries
o Snr Employee Relation issues
Key Attributes/Skills:
· Significant HR generalist experience (8+ years as a guide) working across multiple countries, preferably with experience in the IT sector & growth strategies in a dynamic talent marketplace
· High energy, sense of optimism and responsiveness
· Must have strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills and be able to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Ability to develop/maintain successful ‘account management’ type relationships
· Commercially driven with the ability to quickly gain credibility with Snr. Executives by understanding the commercials of their sales business
· Ability to review and solve complex HR problems
· Ability to create executive summaries, reports, process guidelines, documents/proposals
· Flexible to travel (in EMEA)
· Good Presentation skills (Fluent English essential)
· Ability to lead and drive activities and projects across EMEA to successful, time bound outcomes
· Team player – able to contribute through collaboration and create most effective solutions for business needs
· Experience operating in an international environment
· Results driven with a strong ‘can do’ attitude.
Partners with business units/divisions in delivering Corporate and Divisional HR policies and programs.Join a leading HR group consulting with management and employees on HR practices and procedures. Manage employee relations issues and conduct investigations in support of corporate ethics and values. Participate in company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., manpower planning, salary/bonus/stock review, organizational change, performance management, and training assessment).
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis, and problem solving. Ability to travel. 8 years generalist experience and BA/BS degree. Experience in an HR specialty a plus.
