The ideal candidate must have passion for solving complex and interesting problems in distributed computing, high volume transaction processing and large-scale system design. Our success requires us to process over 500 million transactions a day in a SaaS environment. We are seeking individuals who can handle the challenges and opportunities of developing software that operates at this scale while expanding our functionality to even further the lead that Oracle Marketing Cloud NextGen has over the competition. Intern Software Engineers will work on many different projects and assume varying responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Takes full responsibility for developing and deploying one or two features end-to-end
• Works on highly complex problems and designs solutions
• Is eager to work on new technologies, product areas and has a ‘can do’ attitude to learn quickly and deliver
• Has good understanding of how his/her function interacts with all related functions
• Works closely with the lead to review the design and implementation proposals
• Acquires knowledge of existing code to refactor or re-engineer the solution as needed to meet the needs of an evolving platform
• Keeps up to date on the latest and relevant technologies, frameworks
• Works with the data services and QA teams to deliver high quality features on time

Job Requirements

• BS/MS in computer science or other relevant technical degree
• Demonstrate analytic and problem-solving skills, particularly as it relates to platform design, development, and infrastructure
• Ability to analyze, design and review the design/implementation with lead of the group, and implement prototypes
• Experience in application development using Java/J2EE technologies is desirable
• Hands-on Experience with Java, Spring, JMS, relational databases and SQL and scripting languages like python is a plus
• Good object-oriented, multi-threaded programming, debugging, unit testing skills
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes technologies for development and deployment will be helpful Ability to quickly learn and develop expertise in existing highly complex applications
