Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Opening and closing of the In Room Dining Department
- Processing of guest orders
- Preparation of In Room Dining tables and trays
- Serving of food and beverage
- Clearing of tables and trays from guest rooms and hallways to the Stewarding Area
- Cash integrity and cash out functions
- Other duties as assigned
All duties will be performed in accordance with the Fairmont Empress’
commitment to luxury service standards
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of one year recent (in the past five years) experience as a Server
- “Serving it Right” and “Food Safe” certifications
- Proficiency in the use of a POS system
- Completely fluent in the English language, both written and verbal
- Clear, precise, professional and helpful telephone manner
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to use time efficiently
- A team player with proven success in relationship building
- A high level of responsibility and commitment to provide excellent service and exceed guests expectations
- Broad liquor and wine knowledge
- Must be recommended for Front of House on SRI; WOO, Relator (Team), and Responsibility themes must be at predictive or highly predictive levels
- Impeccable grooming and presentation
- Physical ability to perform the requirements of the job, including:
- Standing/walking for extended periods of time
- Performing repetitive work
- Lifting and carrying full trays
NOTE: The position of In Room Dining Server is physically demanding. The successful applicant must be physically capable of standing/walking for 90% of shift, performing repetitive work, as well as lifting and carrying heavy loads.
