This role is focused on enabling the Student Cloud product offering in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.  Student Cloud is Oracle’s SaaS Student Information System geared towards instrumenting both learning institution personnel as well as their students in navigating their journey in Higher Education.

 

This position is located in India.  Our ideal candidate is a senior level DevOps resource (heavier on ops but dev is a definite plus) who will work both independently and collaboratively.

 

Responsibilities

 

·      Architect and support a containerized, Java based SaaS solution that runs on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.  We are in the process of migrating our legacy product and infrastructure to Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure.

·      Partner closely with Development, QA and Release Operations teams to manage system deployments.

·      Manage provisioning of new customer environments.

·      Ensure that all supporting infrastructure is robust, fault tolerant and adheres to customer configuration standards in development, test and production environments.

·      Drive resource monitoring and performance monitoring activities.

·      Handle log management.

 

Job Requirements

 

·      A Bachelors Degree CS/MIS or related, or equivalent experience

·      Linux (Ubuntu, Oracle Linux) and Mac OSX Systems Administration

·      Scripting Languages (Bash, Ruby) and Go Templates

·      Oracle Cloud Infrastructure preferred (OKE, Compute, DbaaS, Networking, Log Analytics) and/or other Cloud service providers (e.g. AWS, Azure)

·      Containerization with Docker

·      Kubernetes and Helm charts

·      HashiCorp Vault

·      Oracle 12c and higher RDBMS

·      Version Control Systems Git/Bitbucket

·      Orchestration with Terraform

·      Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment systems (Jenkins)

·      Configuration systems (Chef, Ansible)

·      Automation (environment provisioning, deployments)

·      System monitoring and alerting (Prometheus Grafana)

·      Networking (designing virtual private networks, virtual cloud networks, subnet and security lists, DNS)

·      Security protocols (SSL, TLS, HTTPS, key management)

!|!Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.

Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliablility of the system. Manage the load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinate terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requisitions. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. May play a team leader role for developing System Administrators.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Eight years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.
